| Due to my husband's profession, I relocate with my two children from my native town of San Sebastian, Spain, to Formigal, Spain, located in the Aragon Pyrenees Mountains, where my husband manages a ski resort. As a result, I quit my job at a renowned medical laboratory.

This radical life-stile change places me in a unique environment, surrounded by Mother Nature, requiring that I adjust and orient my life in a completely different way. I am now able to imagine the phenomenally enriching experience to offer my children, and the possibility for our family to share our new environment and live it to the fullest.

I realize as well I have chosen to leave behind a fairly comfortable, organized, and financially stable life-style (despite its stresses), to initiate a new and completely different one full of unknowns. Here in Formigal, while my husband is at work and my children in school, I am in possession of plenty of free time which leads me to reflect deeply on the following: What am I capable of doing here?
I have a versatile personality and a permanent restlessness to be useful and productive, which has always made me feel good about myself. My free time allows me to think about many things, and very soon my desire to take-up the art of drawing revives in me – a hobby I've always enjoyed since childhood. Via my drawings, I am now able to express and communicate how important it is in life to pursue one's beliefs despite the roadblocks that may be encountered along the way – who said life was easy anyways?
Needless to say, I believe it is essential to overcome life's obstacles bravely and proudly, while always preserving a positive attitude.

Oftentimes we are strangers to ourselves, and when life offers you a different path, inner powers and values are discovered. One's character now comes to light, exhibiting either courage or fear, and strength or weakness to fight for and achieve your goals.
So, during my plenty of free time, I find myself designing and making a series of drawings which, to my surprise, are rather captivating to everyone around me.
Thus the idea of transferring them to framed pictures, clothing, laminated prints, stickers, coffee mugs, and a variety of other items, with the ultimate goal of sharing them with the world. |
